Cllr Jason Ablewhite

Councillor Jason Ablewhite has served as a District Councillor for the St Ives East Ward since 2004 and was elected as its Executive Leader at the Annual Council Meeting in May 2011.  He is a member of St Ives Town Council, having been first elected in 2000.  He also served as St Ives Town Mayor in 2005/6.

Jason is 39 years old and is married with two young children. He moved to Huntingdonshire when he was two years old and has been living in St Ives for 19 years.  He currently works in a senior management position for a food wholesaler in Peterborough.

(The Executive Leader is a Councillor who has already been elected by Huntingdonshire residents to represent a particular Ward and is then selected by Councillor colleagues at the Annual Council meeting.  He is responsible for formulating policy within the Council framework with the guidance of Council Officers and arranging for all executive functions to be carried out.)
